CREATION OF A BESPOKE PIECE

Are you considering having an ANNA VON AABLING piece made for you?

Maybe you already know what creating a bespoke garment entails for you, but if you do not, you can find a brief introduction below.

MEASURING YOUR BODY
After you have chosen the ANNA VON AABLING piece you want to have created to fit your body perfectly, I will take your measurements.

CONSTRUCTION, CUTTING AND SEWING OF YOUR INDIVIDUAL TOILE
As I have your measurements, I can now create the paper pattern for your piece. This will be used to cut a toile (test fabric version of your piece) which we will use for testing the fit on your body.

FITTING OF THE TOILE
At the fitting of the toile, you will wear the piece and we will adjust it, until we obtain sublime fit. Here the aim is to present your body in the most elegant way, and at the same time ensure a fit that incorporates your preferences.
This part of the process can take one, two or even three fittings, depending on the complexity of the design.

The fit of a garment is one of the major differences between ready-to-wear (standardized, mass-produced clothes) and bespoke clothes. Other differences include specific sewing techniques – bespoke pieces oftentimes involve more hand sewing – and particular forms of interlining garments.

CONSTRUCTION, CUTTING AND SEWING OF THE FINAL PIECE
Only now can the process of creating your actual piece begin. First the adjustments from the toile will be transferred onto your paper pattern, which then will be used as a basis for cutting your bespoke ANNA VON AABLING piece. If it is a lined piece, this includes cutting of lining and potential interlining. Hereafter begins the sewing process.

TIME REQUIREMENTS
Apart from the price of the chosen piece, you must also expect investing 2-6 hours for fitting the piece. You can either visit me in my studio, or I can come to you.
